Positive Choices was founded to meet the needs of children, parents,
and teachers who are currently facing the challenges of childhood
Mental Health, Behavioral, and Autistic Spectrum disorders.
The incidence of children being diagnosed with disorders such as
Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism, Depression, Oppositional Defiant
Disorder, Anxiety, Pervasive Developmental Delay, Asperger's
Syndrome, Bipolar Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
continues to grow. In many cases, symptoms can be significantly
reduced by providing children with an opportunity to work
through challenges, gain self awareness, and develop healthy coping
skills with a skilled professional.
Renay Emmanuele, Director, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor,
Guidance Counselor, Early Childhood Teacher and Montessori Teacher
who has specialized in the treatment of childhood disorders for over
10 years. The Positive Choices comprehensive treatment model
includes consultation, assessment, direct clinical services and
individualized behavior program development. Home and
school based services are provided to ensure that therapeutic
interventions take place in the child's natural environments.
Positive Choices also facilitates classroom units in the areas of
Character Education, Career Development, Conflict Resolution, and
Safety. Small group therapy is offered on topics such as Divorce,
Anger Management, Grief, Foster Care & Adoption, Friendship Skills,
Attention/Focus, and exposure to Substance Abuse. Workshops
available upon request.
